Netflix & Nibbles: 5 Quick Indian Snacks Under 15 Minutes

🍿 Snack 1: Masala Popcorn
- 1 cup cheese sauce or sour cream (or another sauce of your choice)
- 1 tbsp oil or melted butter
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder (add more or less spices)
- 1/2 tsp chaat masala
- Salt to taste
- Cook the corn and pour it into a mixing bowl.
- Put heat oil or butter in a pan, add turmeric and chili powder, and mix it a few seconds.
- When the popcorn is ready, pour the spiced oil on top of it. Add some masala and salt and mix well
- Eat hot in a big dish - binge-watching fueled!
- If you do not have the time: Add fried curry leaves to add the South Indian flavor.
- 2 cups puffed rice
- 1/4 cup sev (crisp noodles made of chickpea)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 2 tbsps. of coriander leaves, chopped.
- 2 tbsp tamarind chutney
- 1 tbsp green chutney (optional)
- Salt/ chili powder to taste.
- Puffed rice, sev, onion and tomato are mixed in a bowl.
- Add chutney, coriander, salt and chili powder.
- Mix gently.
- Serve right away in order to remain crunchy.
- 1 cup raw peanuts
- 2 tbsp gram flour (besan)
- 1 tbsp rice flour
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp water
- Combine peanuts and gram flour, rice flour, chili and turmeric and salt.
- Spray water to make sure that the peanuts are covered with flour.
- Put on a plate that is microwavable. Microwave 3-4 minutes stirring at intervals.
- Give them a little time to cool down and they will be crispy as they lie.
- 200 g paneer, cut into cubes
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Juice of half a lemon
- Place the yogurt, spices, salt and lemon juice in a bowl.
- Paneer cubes would be coated and to be marinated in 10 minutes.
- either grill or pan-fry the panner skewers 6-8 minutes.
- Serve hot with mint chutney.
- 4 slices of bread
- 1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Water to make batter
- You need to add gram flour with chili, turmeric, salt and water to prepare a thick batter.
- now dip the slices of bread in the batter
- Fry either in a shallow manner (or air fryer) until golden and crispy.
- Hot served with green chutney or ketchup.
Tips & Variations
Spice Control: Add chili powder to make snacks milder or more of it to make the night a burning binge.
Healthier Choice: Deep frying should be replaced with air frying.
Meal Preparation: Ready to eat chutneys in your refrigerator will come in handy to get an instant flavor burst.
Presentation Matters: Snacks are presented on small bowls with garnishes on them to look ready to be posted on Instagram.
